IMPORTANT NEWS: On May 6th, 2025, The Sunflower Coalition received communications that our dear friend Christopher “Swampy” Garrett was killed in a frontline area of Ukraine. He was not just a talented EOD expert and veteran of the Armed Forces, but he was also a beloved husband, father, and dear friend. He worked 11 years dedicated to de-mining and making the world a safer place. The Sunflower Coalition raised $500 for the donation match hosted by the Polsky Foundation, which means that our efforts were doubled, giving $1000 to the fundraiser honoring this amazing man. This money will be going towards reuniting his remains with his family and taking care of his surviving loved ones. We would like to thank everyone for their support during such a difficult time. Eternal Glory to our heroes.

CURRENT CAMPAIGN
On the evening of March 7th, our defender and dear friend Vlad lost his home and car. Thankfully his family had already been safely evacuated and he was on position at the time of the incident, preserving his and his family’s life, however everything he and his family had is gone. To ensure Vlad both has a vehicle and his unit does not suffer the loss of another evacuation transport vehicle, we at the Coalition will be doing what we can to get Vlad another car, the cost of which we estimate to be around $15,000-$20,000.
As of this announcement, we have currently raised $8,437! We have gotten off to a strong start but there is still a ways to go. The great news is that we already have a gracious volunteer willing to do paperwork to purchase a vehicle overseas in Europe as well as a Ukrainian organization that will be able to do declaration paperwork to import the car.

As we enter into the summer months, we are increasingly aware of the approaching winter months. Ukrainian defenders always appreciate receiving more warm clothes, medical supplies, and other donations to prepare for the cold season exacerbated by Russia’s destruction of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
